Beautiful Resin Bound Driveway in Milton, Cambridge
We recently had the pleasure of transforming the front of this lovely home in Milton, Cambridge, with a stunning new resin bound driveway. The customer wanted to upgrade their dated, cracked concrete and gravel frontage into something modern, clean and long-lasting, and the finished result certainly delivers.

The original driveway was a mix of tired concrete and a patch of loose gravel. It lacked kerb appeal, offered limited functionality and was beginning to show significant signs of wear.

The finished result offers a sleek, modern entrance that is as functional as it is attractive. It’s weed-resistant, slip-resistant and easy to clean, giving the homeowners the maintenance-free solution they wanted that also boosts kerb appeal.
Process Overview
1. Excavation & Base Preparation
We started by fully excavating the existing concrete and gravel to make way for a fresh sub-base. A solid foundation MOT Type 1 hardcore was laid and compacted to provide maximum stability and long term durability for the resin surface.
2. Edge Detailing & Drainage
With the base prepared, we carefully formed clean and defined perimeters using neat trowel finishes along the edges of the resin area. This helped to create a sharp, modern outline that blends seamlessly with the surroundings. A new drainage channel was also installed at the front of the driveway to effectively manage surface water.
3. Resin Bound Surface Application
The chosen finish was a silver-grey resin aggregate with a lighter grey border, creating a beautiful contrast and a truly contemporary look. Once mixed with a UV-stable resin, the aggregate was laid and hand-trowelled across the surface, creating a completely smooth and seamless finish that’s permeable and incredibly hard-wearing.
4. Finishing Touches
We cleaned all surrounding areas and added neat detailing where the resin met existing surfaces. The transformation was immediate, delivering not just practicality, but also elegance and refinement.
