Process Overview

1. Surface Preparation

We began by carefully marking out the new pathway layout. Then the existing tired concrete slabs were lifted and disposed of responsibly. Once cleared, the area was excavated to the required depth to allow for a full, robust build-up of layers.    

2. Drainage Enhancements

A high-quality MOT Type 1 sub-base was installed, levelled and thoroughly compacted using a heavy-duty plate compactor, this created a strong foundation that would support the new paving and prevent future movement or sinking. The pathway was carefully graded to create a subtle fall away from the house, promoting proper drainage.     

3. Resin Bound Surfacing

A sharp sand screed bed, precisely levelled to create an even working surface. Onto this we installed high-quality block paving in a warm, traditional blend of buff and rustic tones, specifically chosen to complement the home’s character and garden surroundings. Each block was laid in a herringbone pattern, maximising both strength and visual appeal.

4. Finishing Touches

At the entrance, we introduced a beautifully crafted curved design feature, widening the path into a semi-circular shape as it meets the front door. This is not only creates a grander, more inviting entrance but also softens the overall look, making it blend seamlessly with the garden borders.
